OK, so I have to ask, "who stole summer and what did you do with it"? With my son heading back to school and all the staff back from holidays the long grind from September to December starts.
#SPICEWORKS NXFILTER HOW TO#
Does anyone got an idea how to deploy this software? I tried /q /s and so on but it doesnt help.
#SPICEWORKS NXFILTER INSTALL#
Hello everyone,Im trying to install Asus display driver for a user via Intune but there is no silent install switch for this software. They don't have to be completed on a certain holiday.) In this series, we call out current holidays and give you the chance to earn the monthly SpiceQuest badge! SpiceQuest September (2023) - Of Pirates and Parties Spiceworks Originals. Not saying that NxFilter doesn't work Just saying that it's more than a DNS filter. Query DNS through another route (or bypass it altogether) and you have bypassed the filter. DNS filtering, by definition, is the filtering of DNS queries. And they lost the chance of saving up several thousands USD.Once you have a local agent you no longer have only DNS filtering: You have a full-out web-blocker. I just don't want to see people having mis-conception about DNS filter. Lastly you can block these IP hosts based HTTP requests using the local proxy agents because it's basically a HTTP proxy filtering server running locally.Ībout browsing using IP host - Opens a new window If it's a big site it has may URLs in one page and there are domains to resolve. So it provides DNS filter and webfilter in one box.Īnd browsing using IP is almost impossible as most websites are working on virtual hosts. It also provides local proxy agents with which you can block URL based on keyword and safe-search enforcing is also possible. Another one is that NxFilter is not just a DNS filter. I am also thinking of integrating an LDAP server with NxFilter. Some of our users even installed it on ClearOS to use ClearOS's LDAP server in conjunction.

It integrates with Active Directory and OpenLDAP. Shallalist is free for non-commercial use. I am the developer of NxFilter which is a DNS filter but it provides authentication, user and group based policy, category based blocking. (Doesn't work so much today as it did 15 years ago, but still.) DNS filtering only works until somebody fills their host file with a bunch of known lookups. I then used socat (4) to redirect the packets to the correct container.Eh. i also verified i am using the correct ipv6 ip Looking into forking Adguard home but they seem to be launching a private hosted option. Testing on a small client base currently. To set nxfilter to use ipv6 i have modified the Dockerfile to support ipv6 (3) and rebuilt the container. I've been running a pair of Adguard home instances and running one in azure one in digital ocean for the past few weeks. this is in spite of settings that all devices obtain their dns settings via dhcp on openwrt (5).

#SPICEWORKS NXFILTER ANDROID#
Research has shown that sometimes android devices will actually use ipv6 for dns (2). I have a mix of devices using nxfilter where nxfilter is running in a container (1) I have a unique scenario that i hope the users on this group are able to help with
